You may not always know when to keep your mouth shut, but you do say things on this blog that make me want to respond to your comments. Saying something when it is time to keep one's mouth shut is often like a mental slap, sometimes gentle, and sometimes like a hard smack. As self reflective as you are, I am sure that you will master the art of keeping your mouth shut, at least some of the time. I am almost 60, and what I know is that I still don't always know when to keep my mouth shut; and I also know that sometimes, I should not.
That life is a journey...that I was fortunate enough to have wonderful loving parents, and have a loving spouse and siblings and friends. That when all is said and done, we all come into this world the same way and will one day leave this world. That we are all the same color inside. That listening to someone can help them through trying times.
not much. usually when i think i know something, i come to find out i really have no idea. all i know is that i can only rely on myself at the end of the day. i cannot tell if this is comforting or unnerving.
I know that I received the Holy Spirit when I professed belief in Jesus' life, His passion, and His resurrection. I know that it changed my life. I know it can change your life. I know that I need to crucify my self-sins (self righteousness, self pity, self confidence, self sufficiency, self admiration, self love, and etc.) in order to deepen my relationship with God and he will teach me what I need to know.
that whatever I think I know is probably bull shit. and whatever I don't know is probably closest to truth. and that the best i can do in the knowledge-arena is admit I don't know anything at all.
I know that: 1. Creating me was not MY idea. 2. HE created me for a purpose. 3. That purpose is HIS - not mine. 4. I'm weak but that's when HE is strong. 5. HE is working through me when I'm not aware of it. 6. I praise HIM for HIS presence in my life!!
What do I know?I am worried about the future of this country. Those people in Washington DC are so disconnected, all of them. I am concerned for my grandchildren here now and the ones to come.if we continue on this path they will never have enough money for just even a house to own.I know I am sick of the evil in this world. For today I know I am grateful to our veterans!!!
That I don't know when to keep my mouth shut.

the only certainty in life is we are born and someday will die.

ReplyDeleteThat nothing in this life is certain. Essential to the an authentic life is a a certainty in an unknown future. That's what smart people say. Maybe...
