A strong compelling emotion. To understand the fullness of love requires a fearless setting free of the beloved. The manifestation of which is void of all self serving. True love, gives up it's own for it's love.
Love, in the potential for life-long-mate sense, begins with the infatuation/lust emotions but if it lasts it becomes a choice and a commitment that is made anew, maintained through hard work, on a daily basis.
Love is reaching outside of self for the benefit of bringing another ( or others) to their highest good.It is an action. It is what God demonstrated to us when we were undeserving of HIS unconditional love.
I don't know if I care for crazy making romantic love all that much, or even the love I am supposed to feel for my parents who drive me crazy? The older I get the more I appreciate the low level-but enduring- relationships I maintain with a few of my friends. I also appreciate fun- whether that happens with sex, sports, hobbies, whatever. It is definitely under rated in our society where everything is supposed to be about work (ex. "working" on relationship, "working" on self, "working" at work).
