right now, yes...writing about something I have to think about. In general, no, not enough doing of what I love best, doing a lot of should, but striving to do what I love, and to love what I do.
I am still trying to figure out precisely what makes me tick, what makes everyday worth it. I am working everyday towards that goal, and I know once I accomplish it I will be doing what I love everyday for the rest of my life [or at least until I retire]. Then I will be able to enjoy doing something else I've worked for, and love!
I think I am doing what I love right now but there is a part of me that feels nothing is ever enough. I need to learn to accept and enjoy what I'm doing right now.
Yes, I guess I am doing what I love, especially through my work guiding the Studio for Art, Faith & History in Orvieto Italy, with its purposes of fostering an attitude of responsive looking and listening for signs of new life in the traditions inhabited by arts and poets, saints and mystics of the past, especially those of pre-modern Europe in Italy; exploring the role of the arts in theological reflection and spiritual formation as well as in liturgy and private devotion; and showing contemporary artists engaged in recuperating for a post-culture the themes and narratives of historic Christian tradition.
no, my current job is just to pay the bills until i can get one in the field that i love. a job that pays the bills would be okay if it didn't take all my time, but this one does.
I think so. Or at least I'm doing what I have to inorder to do what I love. I have to go to college in order to live as independently as I want in the future without my parents having to help.
If you mean work, absoutely not! However, I am doing something I can tolerate. I prefer not to work at all which presents a bit of a problem in finding work that I love. I would much rather be fishing or playing center field for the Boston Red Sox but since fishing would only feed my family and the Red Sox have decided to pass me by this year, I am SOL... So I have a request for another question of the day. How about "How do you find something to do that you love that will pay the bills w/o having to work another job to support it and where do you find this job?" Maybe thats too many words for the window?
I get to do what I love--write--about 1-2 hours per day--the rest of the day is about doing what is required of me to survive.
But I can't really say I love writing while I'm doing it. I'm not sure you can really "love" an action anyway.
This expectation that we must do work we love sets us up for disappointment, we think. We must do what have to get by. If there is a flicker of meaning for a flicker of a second on a biweekly basis, we're effin lucky.
hmm... im not sure if im doing what i love... lol im not even sure what i'm DOING for staters! hmm, lets see, school... yeah im not in love with that but that's life. I'm making friends, which i like, but i miss all my old friends! :( I get to go to youthgroup on Wednesdays, which i love because i get to see my old friends!!! ... and the booring list goes on and on... lol but besides my booring and not very inspired comment Julia, this is a really cool idea! :) I like it!
My wife and I both work at home and get to design / make art, which we both love to do. We also don't have to spend any time away from our son, who is three months old.
The only thing we don't love about it is not having much money. If we could live the way we do and not worry about money, our lives would be perfect. But I think it's a fair trade-off.
Yes, mostly. I love what I'm studying. I complain about it, but I really do enjoy it...most of it. I love spending free time with friends and evangelising, learning more about God. There are loads more things I would love to be doing, but there just isn't time...yet.
No. Not even close. I do think, though, that I will never do what I love because I never like whatever it is that I am doing if I am doing it for so long. Maybe one day I will find the right thing to do with which I can be happy, but I don't anticipate it. I do find what I do to be necessary, and it is often more important to do what is necessary than what makes you happy; especially if they are not the same thing.
I deeply love the one who requires more and more of my doing for him what he can no longer do for himself. I truly love the one who is showing me even deeper levels of love as we go through this passage of life together after 55 years of marriage. I Praise HIM for first loving us!

No. My husband and I wanted to retire to Cape Cod and live in Orleans or Chatham. He got very sick eight years ago and almost died so that dream ended. Thank God he is still here, so I shouldn't complain too much.
At any given moment, I believe it is possible.
ReplyDeleteum......yes? how do I know that? I love what I do. does that count?
ReplyDeleteright now, yes...writing about something I have to think about. In general, no, not enough doing of what I love best, doing a lot of should, but striving to do what I love, and to love what I do.
ReplyDeleteWhat I'm doing right now is 90% ok, and it will let me do more lovable things in the future.
ReplyDeleteI am doing what I love...
ReplyDeleteBut hate the way I am living...

ReplyDeleteright now, yes, watching the yankees. But in general, no, I should really be dancing at least every week.

ReplyDeleteI'm doing what I love, but I don't really love how I'm doing it--right now.
ReplyDeletei am on my way, to that, i think. i see it in the future...kind of a teensy speck at the moment. but at least i can see it. i'm optimistic :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I do love what I am doing but I'm also trying to do it better.
ReplyDeleteI am now. I wish I had learned how to do this sooner, but then I wouldn't have learned so much about myself along the way.

ReplyDeleteI try to love the things I have to do.

Of course I am, more than ever at this point.
ReplyDeleteyeah, even when my kids are exhausting and drive me insane, there's nothing I'd rather do.
